The purpose of this video is to teach learners to apply the additive inverse property to solve a subtracting integers problem. I decided to create a song so the viewers would remember to use the additive inverse property whenever they see a lot of subtraction signs in a problem, hence the repetition in the lyrics.
After the song ends, the viewers are shown a few more example problems with the four steps listed on the screen. The last minute of the video includes four practice problems for the viewer to complete. The solutions to the problems are given as a way to provide instant feedback to the viewers.
The purpose of this video is to teach learners how to simplify mathematical expressions by combining like terms. The video starts with a real-world example of combining like terms using fruits. Combining like terms is a complex topic for many learners, so I felt it would be helpful to show a relatable real-world example at the beginning of the video. The common vocabulary terms are explained at the beginning of the video as well.
The video shows an example of how to identify like terms and then gives the viewer a chance to identify like terms in an expression. The solution to the problem is given immediately after, which provides instant feedback. The video then shows a few examples of how to combine like terms when given an expression. After the examples, the viewers are given the chance to solve two more problems on their own.
